Accommodations in Tents and Tent Trailers
The Skyttehuset campground has two tent areas in the first row, immediately adjacent to the calm waters of Svejbæk Narrow between Julsø and Borresø. With a choice among about 75 unnumbered sites, it’s up to you alone, whether you want to pitch close to the edge of the forest or clear out by the water, where you can enjoy the view of Hjejlen and other passing ships.
If you need electricity for your gear in your tent or tent camper, there are several electric hook-ups around the tenting area. We recommend bringing a good long extension cord, if you don’t want to compromise on where to set up your tent or tent camper.
Because of the unique location of the campground in a protected part of the Silkeborg forests, parking your car in the tent area is not allowed. However, you are allowed to drive down to unload your things and then park your car further up in the campground. If you have a tent camper, you are welcome to reserve a space for a camper/camper van, where the car is allowed alongside the site.
