Are you ready to explore one of Denmark’s most beautiful hiking trails?
The Himmelbjerget route is a 54 km long trail that takes you through impressive scenic landscapes, with elevations, beautiful forests, and not least, exceptional viewpoints over the Silkeborg Lakes.
1st day (Ålekroen, Linå Vesterskov, Laven, Ry, Himmelbjerget, Sletten)
As a highlight of the tour, you’ll visit Himmelbjerget, one of Denmark’s most famous viewpoints. Here you can take a break and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views over the Silkeborg Lakes and the surrounding nature.
After finishing the day’s hike, a well-deserved dinner awaits you at the café in Skyttehusets Outdoor Camp. The food is both delicious and nourishing, perfect for ending an active day. You have several accommodation options (room, cabin, or glamping). All accommodation options are ready, so you can just collapse onto the bed after a good, long, and eventful day.
2nd day: (Ålekroen, Nordskoven, Ny Hattenæs, Dronningestolen, Silkeborg, Brillerne, Slåensø)
The day starts in the café with a delicious breakfast, after which the second half of the Himmelbjerget route awaits you. A hiking day that, among other things, brings you to Silkeborg and onwards to the picturesque Brillerne and Slåensø, where you can take a break and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. Along the way, you can choose to take a packed lunch with you on the trip, so you have energy to continue on the final stretches.
