Activities
The solar ferry is Denmark’s oldest ferry crossing, and in 2015 we got a new modern ferry, which became Denmark’s first solar-powered ferry.
The ferry operates between Skyttehuset and Ålekroen in Svejbæk, and it is the only place between Silkeborg and Ry where you can cross the lakes without getting your feet wet…
Therefore, the ferry is also part of the Himmelbjergruten and owned by the Municipality of Silkeborg. Skyttehuset is responsible for the daily operation of the ferry.
The solar ferry sails throughout the camping season from March 21 to October 19, 2025
The ferry has no fixed schedule but sails by appointment. If you need to cross, either come into the reception or call us at 86 84 51 11
The ferry can be pre-ordered for a fixed time. If you order when you are on site, there may be a waiting time of 15-20 minutes.
